Beneficial Ownership of Companies and Industrial and Provident Societies

The Department of Finance will issue a Statutory Instrument appointing a registrar of the central Beneficial ownership register in the near future. The Registrar of Companies is expected to take this on as a separate legal responsibility.

What is the next step?

The Beneficial Ownership Register will be in place and ready for completion in 2018.

Companies will be able to file their beneficial ownership details to the Central Register from this date of commencement.

There will be a three month deadline to complete filing online and there will be no filing fee.

The Companies Registration Office have issued a sample information form which has all the information needed for filing.
