The European Commission has been examining Irish Vat rates on horses and greyhounds. It has raised objections over the agreement in Ireland that allows non Vat registered farmers to claim vat at 4.8% for the sale of horse and greyhounds.The Irish government has been given two months to amend the current legislation after the European Commission presented them with a “reasoned opinion”.
